Denison University Student Housing
Granville, OhioUnder the direction of developer and construction manager, Continental Communities, EMH&T provided site civil engineering and survey services on this $5 million dollar, two-building student apartment complex for Denison University. This 42,000-square-foot complex is the latest student housing addition to the campus, accommodating 112 students and alleviating previously overloaded residence halls. The new housing units are located on a hillside on Denison University’s northwest quadrangle.
The site proved to be challenging to design due to the terrain’s unique topographical features. EMH&T completed a topographic survey on this 9-acre site, in addition to site civil design, stormwater design, sanitary/sewer water design, a comprehensive campus sanitary sewer capacity study, offsite earthwork operations and offsite roadway design. EMH&T’s design team also completed rehabilitation services on the existing parking lots to accommodate the new development and need for additional parking.
